Hello, this is my (RELEVANT) story in a nut shell…
I work with each individual to build certain skills; practicing self-awareness, tracking patterns of behavior, emotion and energy not in motion. I facilitate dietary change; a form functional nutrition serving, not only your reflection in the mirror, but more importantly your gastrointestinal and neurological health. I incorporate breath work and meditation giving the body space to drop into a parasympathetic state where it can make new neurological connections, heal and transform the body. I am a fitness, yoga and swim instructor incorporating and appealing to many different types of movement encouraging individuals to find a type of movement that brings them joy. My multifaceted physical background and license in Massage Therapy attributes the skills to help others unlock and move stuck energy in the body bringing them closer to their full potential. It is hard for me to give a synopsis of my past, present, and future since, contrary to what it may seem, time is not linear. I have numerous degrees, certifications, and licenses (see right) of which accredit me to do various things however it is my ongoing dedication in providing recent, accurate and relevant information to my peers that sets me apart from others.
Much of my interest lies with researching, becoming educated and interpreting information from academia and eastern thought on the human interactions with their environment, this extends to the basics; eating, breathing, moving, communicating (verbal & nonverbal), and the more intrinsic loking at muscular development and the effects of different types of exercise, dieting, fasting, environmental stress response, endogenous stress, hyperthermic conditioning; its effects on metabolism and heart health, spirituality, meditation, Yoga, mindfulness…the list continues to grow. If there is a new fad out there I am nose deep in peer reviewed articles seeking the scientific evidence to behind it (or not). However, I also support a persons truth according to their subjective reality knowing well that not everything can [yet] be seen or even completely understood. This duality of thought stems from my own life experience; I was diagnosed with depression and treated traditionally with medication for eleven years, during this time I struggled greatly with substance abuse leading to Opioid and herion addiction. I learned to misuse my body, manipulate, steal and did everything possible in which I couldn’t face myself in the mirror. I worked, and continue to work everyday to walk a path of graditude and recovery in which makes sense for me. It was in my recovery that I became fed up of doctors appoinments, drug stores, medications etc. all so I could “exist” in the world. I felt myself watching myself day after day without any real sense of purpose. It took four to five years before I really started to get a handle on things with out the use of drugs and destructive behavior. and watching myself repeat the same patterns of behavior expecting different results My most basic recovery happened first with the assistence of pharmasuticals had changed my diet, started exercising andfind a way of recovery that worked for me and made sense. I took an approach of encompassing, not deprivation, for example instead of telling my self “I can’t go there because there will be drugs or alcohol” I started going places that encompassed something I didn’t have, it started off nothing fancy you guys, it was literally the gym. or because I was and application is because I was my own genie pig in my own experiment. nd integrated way of thinking is because I was a person whogradate and devoted time to researching nutrition, exercise and wellnessMost reTaylor has a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in health from Hartwick College; she graduated summa cum laude with honors. Taylor is known for her passion in the field of health and wellness as well as living the life with integrite, a way of life she coaches for others. Struggling with substance abuse, eating disorders and childhood depression and anxiety Taylor has been exposed to many opportunities to grow within and learn from her suffering. She has found the path of proper nutrition, activity/movement and human connection to be the most profound in her recovery. In academia she scientifically anaysyse subjective experiences and seeks a physiological way to bring meaning to said experience. Her intuition guides as much as her cognition, integrating her previous trainings as a massage therapist, yoga, swim & fitness instructor, she individualizes each coaching session to meet attention with every person she works with.
